Escape from NY....another remake victim

 Story by:  Léon DeGrelle
Source

Breck Eisner producing......yet another victim of the current Hollywood trend of completely destroying and ruining classics....and Escape From NY, is not free from this catastrophe that big wigs are doing to make a quick buck and cheapening the movie experience.  As is turns out....Timothy Olyphant is rumored to be Snake Plissken, a role that was originally played by the uber famous, Kurt Russell, in John Carpenter's real and original idea.  And I'm putting the emphasis on original.  According to Eisner he quotes:
“Conceptually, it’s an idea that’s not true today because of the world we live in. So, how the prison is created is going to be different than in Carpenter’s version. The anxiety of the world and anxiety of our existence post-9/11 is there, especially the anxiety in Manhattan post-9/11.
Plot-wise, they’re different, emotionally they’re very similar. That’s why it’ll be interesting to tackle this movie, to have a slightly different take but with the same results which is Manhattan is turned into a walled prison.”

In other words, this will be another possible, Hollywood clusterfuck.  Just putting it in words that we can all easily understand.   The main reason for Olyphant?  Simple, both Eisner and Olyphant have worked recently in "The Crazies".  With that being said....another classic, with the high chances of it going to the crappers.

Still no director for "The Hobbit"

 Story by:  Léon DeGrelle
 Source

District 9 director, Neill Blomkamp was rumored to be the next director for "The Hobbit", after Guillermo del Toro's departure from the project 3 weeks ago.  David Yates, who directed Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was also rumored to be the next director for the films......to no avail.  Despite Sir Ian McKellen's assurance, that the fill we be on schedule to fans.....I doubt this project will see light of day, since MGM Studios is also in a financial mudhole as we speak
So what's next?  Hopefully Peter Jackson himself, will take over full directorial responsibilities as it should, since his Lord of the Rings trilogy, are among the most successful movies in history.  Perhaps, it's time for PJ, to step up to the plate, and take a trip back to Middle Earth, the Jackson way.

Trace Cyrus tells off Ashley Tisdale

 Story By:  Yesenia Vega

After posting this:
I’ve met and know a bunch of celebrities. By far the worst person I’ve met in my life is Ashley Tisdale. I’ve never had someone who doesn’t know me AT ALL make up so many rumors and bullshit about me. You don’t even know me bitch… Everyone has an opinion. Everyone’s opinion is always right. To them.
Due to the fact that Trace was once interested in Brenda Song, and actually, went out a few times.  Ashley, being protective of Brenda, told something not so nice about Trace, and thus are no longer dating or even going out.   And the remark reached Trace's ears a few days ago and lashed out publicly against Ashley.

On a side note.....and this is only a rumor, Jack Nicholson warned both young ladies about Trace....."I warned them about this guy"

Oh yeah!!! He's a great catch allright.....if you want to catch a disease.

Adventurers, and their world records

Story by:  Yesenia Vega

What are they good for anyway? Just a rich persons way of showing off to everyone that they can do whatever they want, for meaningless records, that most of the world, really can't give two shits about. Seriously, what does a worldwide balloon record do for you? Or a man wanting to be on a boat sailing the world for 3 years? Or a 16 year old girl sailing? or even a 12 year old aviator? Not a damn thing.....to be honest. There's no real awareness of anything....there's not a help in sight for feeding the hungry in the US or their respective countries.......there's no money for you or me? It's not my place, but, what good are these records, when eventually life goes back to normal, and we are still working, taking care of the kids, or whatever we do each and every day. Somewhere, there are unnamed people that do excellent deeds in their communities, or even their country that deserve the attention.....at least for a few minutes to show that we appreciate, what a cop does, a fire person, a military person does, why not them instead, of giving a few minutes of time to some pompous ass, that can be, in most cases, a real jerk in life, and are only doing these things to feed their egos, instead of feeding children, or the poor or actually doing something that actually puts money in our banks, or put food in our tables. In other words, I couldn't give two shits about worthless records that don't put food on my plate. All it is is a grain of sand on the desert of time, eventually, no one will really give two shits about the records anyway

JAWS: 35th year anniversary

 Story by:
Sancho

yay!!!!!!  THis movie was the first highest grossing film for almost 2 years, in the Box Office, until Star Wars came along, and maintained the top spot until Jurassic Park in 1993.
Jaws, cause mass panic to a once fanatical beach going nation, in fact, many people were afraid to even get close to the water.  In fact, Spielberg and company, almost didn't make the movie, as there were constant problems with the shark.....but it wasn't until Carl Gottlieb (Writer), that had the idea of, showing less of the shark, but more intensity and camera views and angles.....did it work?  I think it obviously did.  Only 1 of the original three main stars still lives.....Richard Dreyfuss.  Roy Scheider (Chief Brody), passed away in 2008, and Robert Shaw (Quint) died in 1978.  This movie is still highly regarded and remembered, mainly because of the music that accompanied the terrifying movie.  In fact, Jaws was nominated for an Oscar.
Happy Anniversary to Summer's first blockbuster.

Toy Story 3....already dominating the Box office

Fridays tally thus far.....is $41 million, and also because it has been a highly anticipated movie of the summer, for not only kids, but teens and young adults that have been fans of the series since the 90's.  Placing Pixar as a powerhouse in the movie industry for nearly 15 years.....even more now, with Disney being the head of Pixar since 2006.  It's a high possibility that TS 3 will definitely surpass the 100 million mark at this rate.  Let's hope it reaches the 250 million mark in the US Box Office.  In further news......Jonah Hex!  Oh never mind, it's a flop, not even worth the mention.  Seems that anything with Megan Fox, as hot as she is said to be, has proven once again.....that looks aren't everything, nor can it get you box office numbers.  Too bad, for the Angelina Jolie knockoff, that can't get audiences to see her movies.

Tom Felton is hated by younger Potter fans

 Story by:
Léon DeGrelle

How good of an actor is Tom Felton?  Good enough to scare the pants out of younger Harry Potter fans.  It's not intentional, but his name has been vilified by his portrayal of Draco Malfoy, for the past decade.  Infact, he's not a good actor, but a great villain.

Is there a Disney conspiracy to sink the Narnia franchise?????

 Story by:  The Entire Staff

This is something that just came to me just last night......well, myself and a few other relatives while discussing the new trailer for "Dawn Treader".  Now, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", made tons of money, the first time around back in winter of 2005, and in fact, beat Harry Potter's Goblet of Fire, in the US box office by less than 2 million dollars, in which Narnia, came on top with $291.7 million to Potter's $290, though in the total world box office, Harry Potter, overshadowed the first installment of The Chronicles of Narnia.  So Disney made it big that year.  So......fast forward to May 2008, the sequel, Prince Caspian was dropped and hung out to dry in a box office battle between 3 Hollywood Blockbusters in Iron Man, Indiana Jones, and Sex and the City.  Now, Prince Caspian, had a much darker theme, than the original movie, but it was flung out there to get summarily slaughtered by the big boys.  That summer year, Iron Man was a surprise hit, Indiana Jones had been anticipated for 18 years, and Sex and the City.....well, the women flocked to see that movie like wildfire in the savanna.  So where was Prince Caspian?  stuck in limbo, and Aslan's huge roar nothing more than a meow in comparison to not only the first one, but against the big boys.  Disney, fucked up, BIG TIME!!!!  Prince Caspian, ended up with a world total of $419.6 million dollar out of a $225 million dollar budget, not including what was spent on the little promo it got.

As if Hollyweird can't get eny more original...The Thing to be re-made

Story by:  Léon DeGrelle
 Source

But according to Universal Studios, The Thing will be a prequel, to John Carpenter's original 1982 horror classic.  I'm surprised myself, that, this movie will be a prequel, since remakes are the IN thing for a younger Hollywood breed of "talent" that want to make a quick buck, and denying the true originality of its predecessors from years past.  But, that's me only......and perhaps the millions of movie fans that may agree with this.

The Thing, like in the original, is a shapeshifting ET creature that assumes the identity of whatever, and whoever it kills.  And this creature goes on a killing spree of sorts, just for the hell of it....no real reason behind why it kills.  In fact, this movies had dismal box office numbers back in 1982, but has become a top rated cult classic to horror fans over the years, because of the impact of terror to the audiences it has, even to this day.  Hopefully, this gets the well deserved numbers it deserves for the box office when it comes out next year.  It's slated for April 29, 2011, just before the beginning of the summer blockbuster hits commence.  Have fun.

Harry Potter comes to an end.

 Story by:
Léon Degrelle

It was not only a sad day for just Daniel Radcliffe, but for everyone that has been associated with the movies.  After a decade long road, the HP franchise, has finally ended, its very successful string of movies and sequels.  In fact, the most successful series in cinematic history.  Filming may have concluded, but the films are yet to be released, and there will be no doubt, that there will be tears, from long time fans, after 2011.  Daniel, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, have definitely benefited, from being part of the series, since they're all, filthy stinking rich.  A good luck to all 3 main actors of the series in their future endeavors.  Love the series, but sometimes.......it necessary to end things.  Sad, really.  Nut the series will live on.

Joran Vander Sloot pleads for his life

 Story by:  Léon DeGrelle

First, he kills Natalee Holloway, but doesn't admit any wrong doing, and then he goes off, and kills a girl, named Stephany Flores in Lima Peru, exactly 5 years after the murder of Holloway on May 30th 2010.  He is such a loved celebrity in Peru, that, little Dutch boy here, is protected better than the conventional murderer and killer, by him wearing a bullet proof vest, and keeping other hardened criminals from violating him like a bitch that he is.  In fact, he is so well received, that people pelt him with trash and tomatoes, while chanting "Bestia", ''Asesino", and "Psicópata".  And for the even better news, this ass munch is also wanted for wire fraud and extortion on US soil the day before as well.  And now, he wants to serve his time in Aruba, where he will be safer.  Personally, I prefer that he does time in Peru, there, he won't have a chance of saying jack shit, and gets what he deserves.  The prisoners, will have an ungodly good time with "el güerito", and he'll have a wonderful time learning to speak some important Spanish words like:  "Ay papi!! si!" and "Me gusta el chorizo".  Very important in Spanish speaking nations.  With love from the entire crew from our department and huge Chinga tu re-puta madre pinche joto, from all of us at CTM Newz, to the butt-pirated Dutchman.  Just because Holland has the tallest people in the world doesn't mean, that he will not be humbled by a bunch of criminal reprobates in the Peruvian prison.
As far as his pleads.....he's actually willing to tell US authorities where Natalee's body is located, so as not to serve time in prison in Peru, but in Aruba.  I doubt that he knows anything, since his dead daddy is the one that cleaned up after his son's mess.  In fact, daddy died ealier this year from a stroke.  Good, take that for covering up for a criminal.

According to Accesshollywood.com, both Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) bump uglies is the latest of news for the 2 part Breaking Dawn.  And the infamous Taylor Lautner, has a full nude scene, in Eclipse.  Jacobs nude scene was anything but fun, the bitter cold gave him 2 minor problems, the first one, it was so freezing cold he kept forgetting his lines, and the second......well, it happens to all guys, called "Shrinkage".  According to rumors, normally he packs a .44 magnum, but it turned into a mini gun.  Shit happens.

Clash of the Titans 2.

 Story by:  Sancho
Source

WB has greelighted the making of the movie earlier today.  WB may get Worthington back, but no one knows if Liam Neeson, Gemma Aterton, or Ralph Fieness will return.  Filming could begin as early as next January.  Sam Worthington needs to decide and make a move, since Avatar 2 will also be filming in the same year.....and travelling between 2 movies, and different areas, can be hectic.  It can be done, but the travel will definitely cause severe jet lag, and strain to the body.

Mexico's blame

 Story by:  Léon DeGrelle

I'm not a particular fan of illegal immigration, nor any of the garbage that ends up in border towns, near the US border, in particular, Tijuana.  Myself and all the staff members here on the blog happen to agree with me 100% on this.  I hear the story on both sides, on one side...that they do jobs that no one else wants and on the other, I hear they don't belong here.  Well, set up the proper paperwork, speak and leanr the language, and adhere to US laws and customs and there won't be problems.  I agree with the second.

Now, with "they take jobs that no one wants" that has some truth, but not all of it.  Now, the jobs that they take, happen to be jobs that are low paying that big companies and corporations are to damn cheap to pay properly and adequately.  A minor example, cleaning rooms, at 8 dollars an hour, is too low to pay and for people to live off.  I mean, these individuals handle dangerous and hazardous materials.  Another, is picking fruit, and they say for 8 an hour....these a-holes hire illegals and pay them like 3.  And 8, for being in the hot ass sun, and bent down like a 2 bit hooker, won't pay the bills.  Translator....9 dollars an hour, please, even the damn Army paid me better than that, and soldiers are indeed underpaid, depending on the BS they have to take and support, and the translators I dealt with, may have Spanish perfectly down, but their English, God Damned atrocious.  And these are minor examples of the jobs that don't want to pay.  And end up hiring individuals that provide cheap labor, but end up costing more in the long run, many are unskilled general labor.

Now, the ones that end up deported, end up in border towns and cause more problems than their worth.  With a combination of those with work Visas, and those that are hoping to cross illegally, cause a giant cluster fuck to the native people, and those that have generations living in Mexican border town, and the unfortunate thing, people like us here, end up getting mixed in together with trash like this that make us look bad, such as those asshole from two particular states in Mexico Sinaloa and Mexico City, and then comes the rest of the individuals with them.  How is it possible, for some outsider, comes to my other town, and demand to get land and a house, instead of asking their local government and asking....where they belong.  Tijuana, is now over run with idiots, Chilangos, narcotraffickers, nacos, paisas, and everything in between, us, being inundated with filth, trash, corruption, and shit form them.

The Mexican Government is to blame for not putting a stop to any of this, nor doing anything to fix the constitution to stop the flow of pendejos to border towns.  Their government can stop this, but won't.  Why?  The drugs that flow to the US side, bribes them.  The illegals that are working in the US, shell out money to their families in Mexico and money that is spent in Mexico.  So you think Felipe Calderón, and his government, or the ones after him, are going to stop thier own people from going up north and sending US money, or from drug cartels from sending their drugs to the US side......HELL NO!!!  President Calderón can put a stop to it, but refuses to do so, there's so much money at stake here.  It can be done, but nothing will be done.  Towns like Tijuana, will overflow with garbage, as it is now, and drugs will continue to flow....as long as there's demand for it.  But it does take 2 to tango.  Guess who's the 2nd party to blame???  The US as well.

Fright Night remake cast.......will have a hard time outdoing the original

Story by:  Sancho
Source

David Tennant and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, have joined in to portray Peter Vincent and "Evil" Ed.  These 2 have been casted as two important roles of the 5 primary characters as in the original.  The join Colin Farrell, (Vampire Dandrige), Toni Collette (Charlie's mom), and Anton Yelchin (Charlie Brewster).
The first and original one, only had Roddy McDowall and Chris Sarandon as the more famous stars in the movie, back in 1985.  But it proved to be a really good vampire movie afterall, and pretty scary.  The storyline will remain intact, basically, with obviously a few new ideas added in, and updated.  The new cast will have a definite hard time to out do, or even try to equal the impact of the original.  Most remakes...literally fail, when it come to the power and impressions the original flicks have.  Well, hopefully Dreamworks has success in keeping the namesake alive and well, and not another quick off the grill, makeshift remakes that most remakes are anyway.  Just filler movies.  And what I mean filler, is that it fills the pockets of movie execs, and writers and not really making a worthwhile movie, with a strong plotline, or that it just depends of SFX and loud noises to keep people interested.

on a celebrity roast, on August 15th of this year at 10 PM EST/PST.  It was announced earlier in the day.  And I'll be honest, these roasts, can get pretty nasty, not only to the ones being roasted, but some of the guests.....rag on each other really bad.  Pamela Anderson was the first one to be roasted back in 2005, and let's say it was pretty bad, but funny at the same time.  When William Shatner was roasted, the poor late, Bea Arthur was verbally assaulted in all corner, just as bad as Shatner himself.  With Hasselhoff.......anything can happen.

She's free on a bond, and what does she do?  She goes out drinks, and fucks up again.  Judge Marsh Revel, who's been extremely lenient, has upped the bail once det at 100K to 200K, after LiLo's Scram bracelet, went off, sometime during the MTV awards after party this past Sunday.  The judge, once again, was pissed, and raised the bail on Tuesday June 8th, 2010.  Funny thing....sometimes the devices set off for no reason.  But knowing Lohan's past, and current deeds....that was not a computer mishap or fault, something went on.  Let's see what other events happen, as this trial progresses.  The hearing is currently set for July 6, 2010.

Shrek roars supreme again, for the 3rd week in a row.

 Story byLéon DeGrelle

Beating everyone in the US Box Office, once again with 25.3 million dollars.  The next contenders aren't even worth mentioning but here's the link, just in case to get one's curiosity going.  Prince of Persia has been dethroned, and the Sex and the City gals, have been pummled, to an abysmal sequel, being called, a tragic end to a series.  Killer, Get him to the Greek, and Marmaduke, have an abysmal debut week with:  $17.4, $16.1, and an $11.3......opening week, respectively.

Opening this week.......A-Team and Karate Kid, let's see how they fare in this week.

Chloe Moretz's new flick

 Story by Sancho
Source

called Hick.....will be way too strong for any of her peers, and even her to see on film once its released.  Infact, the premise of it sounds ok, with a 13 year old Nebraska, abandoned by her parents, with a gun to fend off the unwanted and what not and heading over to Las Vegas, and running into some despicable characters.  But when it comes to the girl getting raped, now that's a change of view there.  As much as I have enjoyed Chloe's short history of filmwork, she is more than capable enough to perform as she should in this film, but the content.....a bit too strong, but then again, it won't be the first time an underage actress was asked to perform under such storylines....as I recall, Jodie Foster and Brooke Shields performances in their past, were nothing short of spectacular.  I know Chole can do it.  But, the rape part, is iffy and wouldn't be surprised if this receives an NC-17 rating, over the normal R rated flick.  For fans of Chloe, let's give nothing less than an applause and support for this talented young actress.  Good luck to her.
