Don't expect something from TRON

TRON opened to a $3.5 million dollar opening midnight showing earlier today.  Experts say, that the movie will make anywhere between 45-50 million dollars over the weekend.  Disney expects this movie to overshadow and over perform from the expected stats, since they already shelled out a serious amount of money, not only in the production of TRON: Legacy, but also in the promotion.....which includes two years in a row during the San Diego Comic Con.  Who knows what really will happen, but this, being the final week for Christmas shopping, I doubt that parents, will take their kids and shell out $80 or more dollars, when they can spend their money on last minute gifts for friends and family.

Personally, I hope this things fails.......the first Tron, I fell asleep within the first 20 minutes when it first came out. I tried watching it again, 15/16 years later, and the same happened, I fell asleep.  Despite, that the first Tron, made its money back, plus another 16 million, it's not exactly a hit.  it was nominated for 2 Oscars back in the day, for Sounds and Costume Design, it didn't help enough from keeping me awake.  Sire, some of the visuals were great and wonderful for the day, but not good enough to keep me interested.  Will I see this???  Nope, they'll not be getting my $16 dollars from me.  To finalize, what compelled Disney, to revive this series, when it wasn't more than a mediocre movie, with great SFX for the day, and whats worse, the use of wonderful actors like Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner, in a so-so script.  Well, Disney has been setting themselves, for box office failure at times, so this Tron revival, wouldn't be any different.
