Nightmare on Elm St. reboot makes near 16 mill in opening night

$15.9 million to be exact.  The reboot, which takes the namesake of the original, has gored it's way to the top of the US box office this week.  And it needs it too, since Iron Man 2 is coming next week, and that movie will take Freddy's momentum, down to a trickle, due to the popularity of the suited hero.  It's expected that this movie will take in at least $35 mill, over the weekend.  A slow weekend if you ask me, but still ok.  Summer movie season has finally started as of last night, so expect big names, big movies this summer.  Summer 2008 was great, 2009 was mediocre, but 2010, may be the great beginning of a new decade.
Hopefully the remake trend will end, and writers stop cheating movie goers by re-modifying already made ideas....just to make a quick buck, and to steal the thunder of the classic writer's that first made a classic movie.....great.
